The government has updated the latest travel requirements for Domestic Travelers (PPDN). In the latest regulation, PPDN using air transportation is now free from the requirements for antigen and PCR tests if they have received the third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine or booster. These travel conditions are effective from August 29, 2022. Check out the full terms and conditions below.

Director General of Air Transportation Nur Isnin Istiartono said he was following up on the Covid-19 Task Force Circular Number 24 of 2022, which made it easier for Domestic Travelers (PPDN) to travel without RT-PCR and antigen tests, as long as they had received the third dose of vaccine.

“The Circular Letter of the Ministry of Transportation Number 82 of 2022 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Domestic Travel by Air Transportation during the Covid-19 Pandemic will be effective starting on August 29, 2022,” he said in a statement, Monday (29/8/2022).

In addition to the requirements for using the PeduliLindung application, Domestic Travelers (PPDN) are also required to meet several requirements, including:

  • Ages 18 years and over must have received the third dose of vaccine (booster)
  • PPDN with foreign citizenship status, originating from overseas travel with the age of 18 years and over must have received a second vaccine.
  • Ages 6-17 years must have received the second dose of the vaccine.
  • Ages 6-17 years old from overseas travel are exempt from vaccination obligations; and
  • Ages under 6 years are excluded from the vaccination requirements but must travel with a companion, who has complied with the provisions of the Covid-19 vaccination.

If the above requirements have been met, then PPDN is not required to show a negative result of the RT-PCR or antigen test.

“And can travel within the country with strict health protocols,” he explained.

Meanwhile, PPDNs with special health conditions or comorbidities are exempt from vaccination requirements and are not required to show a negative result of the RT-PCR or antigen test, but must show a doctor’s certificate from a government hospital.

Nur Isnin added that the provisions of this circular also exclude PPDN users of pioneering air transport, including flights in border areas, 3T areas (lagging, leading, outermost), and limited services.

During the implementation of this circular, the aircraft carrying capacity (load factor), airport terminals, and airport operations can be carried out at 100%.

For this Circular to be implemented properly in the field, the directors within the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and the Head of the Airport Authority Office are tasked with supervising.

With the enactment of this circular, SE Menhub No. 77 of 2022 is revoked and declared invalid.
