The government will implement a level 3 PPKM policy for all regions of Indonesia. This policy will be implemented during the 2021 Christmas and 2022 New Year holidays.
“During the Nataru holiday, all of Indonesia will implement PPKM Level 3 regulations and provisions,” said Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy in a written statement, Wednesday (11/17/2021).
Muhadjir said the policy was carried out to tighten the people movement and prevent a spike in COVID-19 cases. Later, all regions in Indonesia, both those with PPKM Level 1 and 2 statuses, will apply the PPKM Level 3 rules in the same way.
“So there is national uniformity. There has been an agreement, the rules that apply in Java-Bali and outside Java-Bali will be uniformed later,” he said.
Furthermore, said Muhadjir, the PPKM Level 3 status policy will take effect from December 24, 2021, to January 2, 2022. This policy will be implemented until the Ministry of Home Affairs issues the latest Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri).
“This Ministry of Home Affairs serves as a guideline for controlling the handling of COVID-19 during the Christmas and New Year holidays which will be determined no later than November 22, 2021,” he said.
“Within this Christmas and New Year’s holiday policy, a number of activities such as fireworks celebrations, parades, processions that gather large crowds are completely prohibited,” said Muhadjir.
