This pandemic is not certain when it will end. Several countries in the world are currently facing an increase in Covid-19 cases.

In response to this, the World Health Organization and other countries are currently preparing guidelines for living with Covid-19.

Prof. Wiku Adisasmito, Team of Experts and Government Spokesperson for Handling Covid-19, said as directed by President Joko Widodo that Indonesia must prepare for various situations. As is known if Covid-19 cannot be predicted when it will end and will continue to be in people’s lives for a long time, or can be called endemic.

Endemic is a disease that infects an area/group of people. In addition, an endemic is a state of constant emergence of a disease in a certain population/geographical area.

Meanwhile, according to PublicHealth, an endemic is a disease outbreak that occurs consistently but is limited to certain areas, thus the spread and rate of disease can be predicted.

Ganip Warsito, Head of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force, said that the government has compiled a roadmap for controlling Covid-19. According to him, the current direction of handling Covid-19 is to turn the pandemic into an endemic. So, people will certainly live side by side with Covid-19.

He added that if the control of a pandemic becomes endemic, three things are needed, namely the implementation of 3Ms, especially the use of masks as basic personal protection. The implementation of 3Ts, testing, tracing, and treatment is also something that must be strictly carried out. Not only that, the number of covered vaccinations must be high.

Quoting from, Indonesia currently ranks 13th in the world and fourth in Asia with a total daily accumulation of positive cases reaching 3.96 million cases or 16,744 new cases and 319,658 active cases, and a recovery rate of 23,011 people.
