Labuan Bajo, nestled in East Nusa Tenggara, stands out as one of Indonesia’s top five Super Priority Tourism Destinations. The picturesque landscapes and rich marine life here have drawn global attention, making it a hotspot for travelers. To elevate the visitor experience, a modern e-ticketing system is now being introduced for tour boats in Labuan Bajo.
The Class III Labuan Bajo Harbormaster and Port Authority Office (KSOP) has initiated trials for this innovative e-ticketing system. Stephanus Risdiyanto, the head of KSOP Labuan Bajo, emphasized the importance of this development.
“Tourists must now present their e-tickets before boarding tour boats at Marina Waterfront Port,” he confirmed during an interview in Labuan Bajo.
This system is currently undergoing testing and community outreach to familiarize locals and tourism operators in Labuan Bajo. Early trials have shown promising results, receiving positive feedback from tourists and tour operators alike.
“The e-ticketing system ensures accurate passenger manifests, streamlining the boarding process with smartphone-based boarding passes,” Risdiyanto explained.

The implementation of e-ticketing aims to address previous challenges where tour boats sometimes failed to pick up tourists at Marina Waterfront Port or departed from different locations, leading to discrepancies in passenger counts. Such discrepancies were notably highlighted during past incidents like the evacuation of tourists from accidents in Komodo National Park waters.
“We are introducing this user-friendly app-based system with extensive support and training for shipping agents. They play a crucial role in facilitating online ticket bookings,” Risdiyanto emphasized. As the trial progresses, the KSOP team remains committed to ensuring smooth operations and enhancing visitor satisfaction in Labuan Bajo.
The e-ticketing system is poised to revolutionize tourism logistics in Labuan Bajo, providing real-time passenger data and enhancing safety measures. This initiative underscores Labuan Bajo’s commitment to sustainable tourism practices while boosting its appeal as a premier destination in Indonesia.
As the system undergoes final testing phases, tourists and stakeholders eagerly anticipate its full implementation. With improved accessibility and efficiency, Labuan Bajo is set to offer an unparalleled adventure for travelers exploring Indonesia’s diverse natural wonders.
