Starting today, the Government has decided to extend The Community Activities Restrictions Enforcement (PPKM) throughout Indonesia until October 3, 2022.

The decision was made by the government in line with the issuance of the Instructions for the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) 42/2022 and 43/2022 which were signed by the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian yesterday, as quoted on Tuesday (6/9/2022).

The Director General of Regional Administration Development, Safrizal ZA, stated that the implementation of the regulation is substantially not much different from the previous regulation. All regions of Indonesia are still in PPKM level 1.

“The results of the PPKM assessment this time and based on expert considerations are still determined that all regions in Indonesia are at Level 1,” said Safrizal in an official statement.

Safrizal admits that this decision has also taken into account several factors, one of which is the positivity rate in Indonesia, which is currently still above the standard set by the World Health Organization (WHO), which is above 5%.

“However, we must continue to be vigilant because until now our positivity rate for the past 30 days is still above the normal standard set by WHO, which is 5%,” he said.

The adjustment in PPKM regulations, especially for Outside Java and Bali, can be seen in the adjustment of the entrance for foreign travelers (PPLN) which is adjusted to the Addendum SE of the Covid-19 Task Force 25/2022 concerning the Health Protocol for Overseas Travel during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Safrizal emphasized that with the latest regulation that travelers using public transportation, be it trains or planes with the condition of booster vaccines, local governments are asked to collaborate to increase the level of advanced doses of vaccination.

“Every opportunity we keep on emphasizing the importance of accelerating advanced doses of vaccines whose national achievement is still below 30%,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Covid-19 Task Force reported that there were an additional 2,340 new cases on Monday (5/9/2022). So the total confirmed cases reached 6,374,882.

Then, the recovered cases increased by 4,444 so the total was 6,177,525. Meanwhile, the number of deaths increased by 21 to 157,668.
Overall, active cases fell by 2,125. This brings the total to 39,689.

DKI Jakarta is still the area that contributes the most positive numbers in Indonesia with a total of 1,402,797 positive patients. Then, it was followed sequentially by the provinces of West Java, Central Java, East Java, and Banten.
