Agus Wialdi, CEO of PT Angkasa Pura II, expressed profound pride in Soekarno-Hatta Airport’s historic achievement of reaching the 28th position globally.

“This accomplishment underscores the dedication of all stakeholders and the unwavering support from the community, the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, and the Ministry of Transportation. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in propelling Soekarno-Hatta Airport to its highest ranking yet, 28th globally and 5th in the category for airports with 60 to 70 million passengers annually,” said Agus Wialdi in a statement quoted by Detikcom on Thursday, April 18, 2024.

According to Agus, the success of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is also attributed to the Airport’s Transformation Program initiated in 2023.

In 2023, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir established the Acceleration Team for Airport International Soekarno-Hatta’s Service, Business, and Operations Transformation. The team’s focus areas include enhancing Airport Expression (improving the airport’s interior aesthetics), Operational & Commercial Excellence (enhancing operational and commercial aspects of the airport).

Additionally, the focus is on Customer Experience (enhancing passengers’ airport experience), Digital Exploration (adopting digitalization for airport services and operations), and Enroute Expansion (increasing flight capacity).

“Through the transformation program initiated by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises since 2023, Soekarno-Hatta Airport is aligning itself with the world’s best airports and improving service, operations, and commercial aspects, resulting in a much-improved global ranking in 2024,” explained Agus Wialdi.
