Government Accelerates the Batang Integrated Industrial Estate Development

The Integrated Industrial Estate (KIT) located in Batang, Central Java, is being accelerated for the basic infrastructure development. The development carried out by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing or PUPR is also in collaboration with local workers and MSMEs.

Several basic infrastructures which include connectivity, water resources, settlements, and housing through a master plan for infrastructure development are being accelerated by the Ministry of PUPR as a step in developing the Batang KIT.

To support connectivity, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing through the Central Java – Special Region of Yogyakarta National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN) is currently completing the construction of an access road to the KIT Batang package 1.3 along a length of 14.79 km.

Currently, work is being carried out in the form of excavation and embankment, compaction of the embankment, casting of rigid Fs’45, installing road channel formwork, erection girder, and Sidorejo overpass. The access road has also been equipped with an 82-meter long Sidorejo bridge. It is targeted that the access will be completed in June 2022.

The Ministry of PUPR through the Pemali Juana River Basin Center (BBWS) has also prepared the construction of raw water supply sourced from the Urang River in the form of a reservoir/reservoir and can accommodate 1 million cubic liters of water to proceed to the Water Treatment Plant (IPA/SPAM) which is being worked on. by BPPW Central Java.

While in the housing sector, the Ministry of PUPR through the Central Java Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center (BPPW) has carried out three jobs at the Batang KIT.

The three works are the construction of a Water Management Installation (IPA) with a capacity of 285 liters/second and a SPAM pipeline network, the construction of a 450-hectare Wastewater Treatment Plant (IPAL), and an Integrated Waste Disposal Site (TPST).

Then, in the housing sector, flats for workers are currently being built with the type of barracks as high as five floors. A total of 10 towers to be built are divided into 3 packages. Package I consist of 4 towers, Packages II and III have three towers each.

Currently, the physical progress has reached 86 percent and is targeted for completion in May 2022. The presence of the flat which is located close to the workplace is expected to provide high-efficiency values ​​for workers.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said that the development of this Integrated Industrial Estate involved local workers and MSMEs.

“In the process of developing the Batang KIT infrastructure, it is hoped that the maximum possible use of local labor and domestic products,” said PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono in a written statement received in Jakarta, Monday (4/4/2022).

Furthermore, Basuki said that for development that uses the state budget, the development products must come from within the country. If it has to use products from outside, it must has a factory here.
