The new capital city (IKN), located in the East Kalimantan region, is currently in the infrastructure development stage. However, several ministry offices have moved to IKN first. Check out the following list.
The government said that, apart from the Presidential and Vice Presidential Palaces, the offices of high state institutions such as the MPR, DPR, Supreme Court, Constitutional Court, and the Supreme Audit Agency will move first to IKN Nusantara starting in 2024.
Main Expert Planner Functional, Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, Hayu Parasati said the move of the government officials from Jakarta to IKN was carried out based on cluster sequence.
“The first cluster that will move to IKN first is the President and Vice President, State High Institutions such as the MPR, DPR, DPD, MA, MK, Judicial Commission, and BPK,” said Hayu, quoted from YouTube IKN Indonesia, Wednesday (23/ 11/2022).
In addition, he continued, all Coordinating Ministries starting from the Economic Sector, Political Law and Human Rights Sector, Human Development and Culture Sector, to the Maritime and Investment Sector.
In the first cluster, there are ‘Triumvirate’ Ministries such as the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, and Ministries/Agencies which directly support the work of the President-Vice President. For example the Ministry of State Secretariat, Cabinet Secretariat, Presidential Staff Office, and Presidential Advisory Council.
“Because the Triumvirate will become Plt. if in a very urgent condition if the president and vice president are unable to carry out their duties following the provisions of the 1945 Constitution article 8 paragraph 3,” he explained.
The first cluster also includes Ministries/Institutions that support planning, budgeting, and development performance processes such as the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, and BPKP.
In addition, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, the Ministry of PUPR, and the Ministry of ATR/BPR as ministries that support the preparation of basic infrastructure in IKN.
This was followed up with Ministries/Institutions that support law enforcement and defense equipment such as TNI Headquarters, TNI-AD, TNI-AL, TNI-AU, Polri Headquarters, Paspampres, BIN, BSSSN, Attorney General’s Office, Kemenkumham, and KPK.
“Because this is the National Capital, the name of defense and security for IKN must come first, even on D-1, the President has decreed that August 17, 2024, IKN will be designated as the National Capital to move from Jakarta to Nusantara,” he said.
