The anticipation is high as the Maybank Marathon 2024 gears up to take place on Bali’s serene island this August 25, 2024. Widely celebrated as a ‘gathering’ for runners, this year’s event is set to unfold at the Bali United Training Center in Gianyar, drawing in an impressive crowd of around 13,500 participants.
Runners are set to challenge themselves in various categories, including the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, and the Children’s Sprint. The stakes are high with a generous prize pool exceeding IDR 2.7 billion.
This year, Maybank Marathon will not only showcase elite running talents but will also feature two special programs: the Maybank Marathon Run For Charity 2024 (MMRCF24) and the Maybank Marathon Indonesian Fast Runner 2024.
In an exciting development, Maybank has partnered with Pelita Air, the national airline, as the Official Airline Partner for the event. To mark this partnership, Pelita Air is conducting a special giveaway that runs until July 16, 2024, offering a unique opportunity for two lucky winners. Each winner will receive a slot in the 10K race and a free round-trip ticket to Bali.

Detailed information about the giveaway can be accessed on Pelita Air’s official Instagram account. Participants booking their flights through Pelita Air’s website or mobile app can also avail a discount of up to IDR 160,000 on round-trip tickets.
Pelita Air, a subsidiary of Pertamina, operates medium-haul flights across 14 routes, including Bali. Indri Wijayanti, VP of Product Marketing at a prominent digital bank in Indonesia and an avid runner, expressed her enthusiasm about this collaboration.
“My first experience flying with Pelita Air last month was incredibly comfortable and enjoyable. They provided free meals, the plane was clean and cool, and there was a generous baggage allowance of up to 20kg. This shows that Pelita Air delivers high-quality service,” she shared, as quoted by Tribunnews.
The Maybank Marathon 2024 is set to see around 13,500 runners taking part. Participants will collect their race packs on August 23-24, 2024, giving them ample time to prepare.
Given the overwhelming response from last year’s Maybank Marathon, this year’s event will implement a drawing mechanism for registration. This automated, independent drawing process ensures fairness, selecting participants randomly and equitably for the competition.
