90 Schools in Jakarta Temporarily Closed Due to 135 Students and Teachers Exposed to Covid-19

A total of 90 schools in Jakarta are finally closed temporarily due to the positive findings of Covid-19 that infected teachers and students. This is stated by the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria (Ariza).

“There are around 90 schools that are temporarily closed due to the confirmation of the discovery of Covid-19 cases,” said Ariza at DKI Jakarta City Hall.

He also detailed the number of schools that are closed, namely 30 high school level schools, 25 elementary schools, and 17 junior high schools.

Based on the data he informed, the most temporarily closed schools due to the discovery of Covid-19 cases are schools located in the East Jakarta area. The number of schools that are closed there is 42 schools.

Furthermore, temporarily closed schools in the South Jakarta area amount to 31 schools, in West Jakarta, there are 9 schools, Central Jakarta 5 schools, and North Jakarta as many as 3 schools.

He also detailed the total number of positive Covid-19 confirmations, namely a total of 135 cases. The details are 120 students, 9 teachers, and 6 educators.

Most schools have started PTM again

Even so, he explained that most of the schools that are temporarily closed due to the findings of the Covid-19 case have now held Face-to-Face Learning (PTM) again.

“Now there are only 23 schools that are still temporarily closed due to the positive confirmation of the virus,” he added.
