In connection with the implementation of the entering Indonesia trial without quarantine, hotels and inns in Bali will be well affected by this policy. Flights to Bali for foreign tourists will affect hotel performance and occupancy rates.

Head of Hospitality Services Colliers Indonesia Satria Wei said based on monitoring, most of the foreign tourists who came to Indonesia in the last few months were still dominated by business people and who had business or work interests in Jakarta.

“As for tourists who are planning a vacation or are going to travel, the number is lower. Regulations that keep changing according to circumstances are one aspect that tourists often consider. However, behind these challenges, some opportunities look quite positive,” he said in a statement. the report, Thursday (24/3/2022).

Based on research conducted by Colliers Indonesia, the average hotel occupancy rate in Bali at the end of 2021 has reached around 40 percent, while Jakarta has reached around 70 percent.

The Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) projects that with increasing demand and easing of quarantine policies in Bali, hotel occupancy rates could grow by 10 percent to 20 percent, mainly due to foreign tourist arrivals at the end of 2022.

Based on the data they collected, several foreign tourists from Europe and Australia have started to show high enthusiasm to visit/revisit Indonesia. This is evidenced by requests to enter Indonesia in August and the months after.

This is very good news for hotels in Bali, which previously had an occupancy rate of only 5 percent. With the high enthusiasm of the world community to go to Indonesia, the occupancy rate has risen high, as evidenced by the demand for hotel room orders.

To facilitate tourists, development is expected to continue to grow in these areas, not only because land prices are still relatively affordable, but also because infrastructure is getting better.

Furthermore, to equalize development and the widespread of tourists in Bali, the Government of Indonesia will start the construction of the Gilimanuk-Mengwi toll road shortly and also a new airport in North Bali in the future.
