Getting around Jakarta for just Rp1 may sound impossible, but that is exactly what residents and visitors can enjoy during the city’s anniversary celebrations this month. To mark Jakarta’s 499th anniversary, the Jakarta Provincial Government is offering special public transportation fares across several major transit services.
The promotional fare will be available for three days only, namely on June 22, June 27, and June 28, 2026. During those dates, passengers can ride Transjakarta for just Rp1.
The special offer was announced through the official Instagram account of the Jakarta Provincial Government.
“To celebrate Jakarta’s 499th Anniversary, there is a special gift for Jakarta residents! You can enjoy this special gift for three days, on June 22, 27, and 28, 2026,” according to a post from the official Instagram account @dkijakarta on Sunday (June 21, 2026).
The discounted fare is not limited to Transjakarta. MRT Jakarta and KRL Commuter Line services will also apply the same Rp1 fare during the celebration period.
“To support the celebration of Jakarta’s 499th Anniversary, the Jakarta Provincial Government together with MRT Jakarta is implementing a Rp1 fare on June 22, 27, and 28, 2026,” according to a post from the official @mrtjakarta account on X.
The program is being implemented under the Decree of the Head of the Jakarta Provincial Transportation Agency No. 102 of 2026 concerning the Provision of Free Public Transportation Services and/or Rp1 Fares.
For MRT Jakarta passengers, several terms and conditions apply. The Rp1 fare is available only on June 22, June 27, and June 28, 2026. The promotional fare is valid from 5:00 a.m. until midnight Jakarta time.

Both existing and new MRT Jakarta customers are eligible to use the promotion. The fare applies to passengers using bank-issued electronic money cards released in 2019 or later, QR tickets purchased through the MyMRTJ application, QR tickets from MyMRTJ Lite vending machines located at MRT Jakarta stations, MyMRTJ Chat QR tickets, Kartu Multi Trip (KMT), and JakLingko cards.
The Rp1 fare also applies to users of the MyMRTJ application whose accounts are connected to MartiPay, AstraPay, iSaku, GoPay, YUP Paylater, and blu by BCA digital banking accounts. Eligible users must have a minimum balance of Rp1. The promotion is also available for Mastercard credit card holders and Kredivo users who still have available credit limits.
Meanwhile, holders of bank electronic money cards, Kartu Multi Trip cards, and JakLingko cards can also access the Rp1 fare as long as their cards contain a minimum balance of Rp1.
Passengers who wish to purchase tickets can do so through MyMRTJ Lite Ticket Vending Machines available at all MRT Jakarta stations. Accepted payment methods include QRIS, debit cards, and credit cards.
Tickets are also available through MyMRTJ Chat via WhatsApp at 0851 4786 1621. Another purchase option is available through the MyMRTJ Chat link at bit.ly/MyMRTJChat.
Passengers should note that tickets purchased through MyMRTJ Lite Ticket Vending Machines and MyMRTJ Chat are subject to a ticket delivery service fee of Rp2,000 for each purchase.
