For the seventh year in a row, Bali has reaffirmed its charm as Asia’s Most Romantic Destination 2025, taking home the top honor at the World Travel Awards (WTA). The island’s name once again shines among the world’s leading destinations for romance and weddings, proving that its allure never fades.

“Our winners represent the very best in tourism excellence, and I extend my congratulations to all of them for achieving standards that continue to raise the bar across this remarkable region,” said World Travel Awards Founder Graham Cooke in an official statement released on Thursday (October 16, 2025).

The World Travel Awards, first established in 1993, is recognized worldwide as a benchmark of excellence across the global travel and tourism industry. Every year, it hosts regional gala ceremonies across different continents to celebrate outstanding achievements in various tourism sectors.

Among the many categories featured this year, Bali stood out as the top choice for Asia’s Most Romantic Destination, surpassing Ko Samui (Thailand) and Siem Reap (Cambodia) in the same category. The recognition adds another accolade to the island’s impressive record, strengthening its reputation as the ultimate romantic getaway in Asia.

But that’s not all—Bali also clinched the title of Asia’s Top Wedding Destination 2025, outpacing other popular nominees such as Cebu (Philippines), Ko Samui (Thailand), and Langkawi (Malaysia). Interestingly, Cebu had been the winner of the same title in 2024, but Bali reclaimed its dominance after previously holding the award for five consecutive years between 2019 and 2023.

According to the World Travel Awards official website, the winners are determined through a detailed voting process that gathers input from professionals in the tourism industry. These include senior executives, travel buyers, tour operators, the general public, and media representatives. The award uses a “first past the post” system, meaning that the nominee with the highest number of votes in each category is declared the winner.

Bali’s consistent success highlights not only its breathtaking landscapes but also its exceptional hospitality, cultural depth, and world-class wedding facilities that continue to captivate visitors from across the globe.
