The Metro Jaya Regional Police (Polda) will use ELTE (Electronic Law Traffic Enforcement) technology in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi areas. The use of the ELTE will be carried out in Patuh Jaya 2022 Operation. According to the schedule, the operation will be implemented from Monday, June 13 to June 27, 2022.

The Patuh Jaya operation will take action against drivers who violate driving regulations. However, this time the ticket will be ELTE technology.

“Our law enforcement activities are carried out by ETLE and sympathetic warnings during operations in the field. We don’t want the nation’s assets to be lost in the middle of the road,” said Firman, Monday (14/6/2022).

In addition, the focus on the use of ETLE is used because the use of electronic ticketing has been widely applied in several other Polda.

The targets include the use of noisy exhausts, the use of rotators, illegal racing actions, against the current, the use of mobile phones while driving, the use of non-SNI helmets, not wearing seat belts, and riding on two wheels on more than one person.

It is known, that starting April 1, 2022, the Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) rules officially apply on several toll roads in Indonesia.

The application of electronic fines on toll roads focuses on violators of the maximum speed limit (over speed), and heavy vehicle over-dimension overloading (ODOL). Drivers who are ticketed will automatically have to pay a fine according to the type of violation.

To make sure the vehicle is ticketed or not, the driver can check via the official website etle-pmj.info.

Dirgakkum and Korlantas Polri Brigadier General Pol Aan Suhanan explained that the sanctions for violating the electronic ticket were adjusted to Law No. 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation.

“The sanctions for violating the electronic ticket are adjusted to Law No. 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation,” he was quoted as saying on the NTMC Police website, Thursday (9/6/2022).

Drivers who go above the speed limit will be subject to Article 287, while ODOL vehicles are subject to Article 307 of Law Number 22 of 2009.

The sanctions imposed for both are in the form of a maximum imprisonment of two months or a maximum fine of Rp. 500,000.

If the driver who is penalized is absent and does not pay the fine, the vehicle registration will be immediately blocked.
