Since January 2022, private jet flights that were previously operating at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport have moved to Soekarno-Hatta (Soetta) because of Halim Airport revitalization. Lately, hundreds of private jet flights have started to get crowded at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said private jet services and operations at Soetta had now reached 523 flights. Namely 353 domestic flights and 170 international flights.
The number of services is from January 24, 2022, to March 10, 2022, operated by 14 airlines. With a total of 2,584 passengers.
The flight services, which are usually used by big companies or the crazy rich, can run smoothly in Soetta because the facilities and infrastructure there are also complete.
“Soetta Airport has complete facilities and infrastructure to support private jet flights. Regarding facilities, departure and arrival of private jet passengers are carried out at a special location, namely the Sapphire Precious Lounge which is located in the Terminal 1 area, not at the scheduled airline passenger terminal,” said Awaluddin in an official statement, Monday (14/3).
For information, as of Thursday (10/3), as many as 14 airlines have operated private jets with 523 flights, with details of 353 domestic flights and 170 international flights. The total number of passengers carried was 2,584 people.
Awaluddin explained that private jet services currently complement flights at the airport. That way, travelers have more diverse choices regarding the flights they will take.
The Sapphire Precious Lounge is considered to have adequate facilities for private jet flights, such as a special lounge, a special vehicle parking area, customs, quarantine, and immigration services.
In addition, Soetta Airport is also equipped with various additional infrastructure such as an east cross taxiway, high-speed exit taxiway to the third runway that can serve private jet flights smoothly. That way private jet flights are claimed not to interfere with public flights.
“Special facilities and complete infrastructure make the operation of private jets also not interfere with scheduled flight operations,” he said.
Awaluddin claimed that the presence of a private jet at Soetta Airport received a positive response. The reason is, private jets are considered to have adequate infrastructure and services.
