Bali and Banyuwangi have long been known as must-visit destinations for both local and international tourists. Now, Indonesia is taking a bold step to boost tourism by introducing the “3B Tour Package,” a program that connects the picturesque regions of Banyuwangi, West Bali, and North Bali.
This new initiative is designed not only to ease travel between these areas but also to redistribute the tourism flow from South Bali, which is often overcrowded, to lesser-known yet equally beautiful regions.
The “3B Tour Package” offers a promising opportunity for these regions to shine. Speaking at the launch of the package, Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, expressed optimism about the impact it will have on the local economy and tourism sector.
“This tour package is available for booking starting tonight, just in time for the year-end holidays and the Chinese New Year,” Sandiaga announced during the press briefing on Friday, September 20, 2024.
Priced between IDR 350,000 and IDR 700,000, the 3B tour package is designed to accommodate a wide range of travelers, from luxury seekers to budget tourists. High-end visitors can look forward to a yacht experience from Marina Boom, while middle-class travelers can take advantage of the new high-speed train services. For those on a tighter budget, the package includes ferry transport, ensuring that all travelers have access to these stunning destinations.

Sandiaga further explained that the tour package reflects the government’s commitment to making travel more accessible. “We’ve coordinated with the Ministry of Transportation, and the Minister of Administrative Reform has also recommended easing travel for tourists using charter flights that land directly in Banyuwangi. Once they arrive, visitors will be greeted by infrastructure like Marina Boom and other transportation options,” he added.
The goal of the package is to attract between 700,000 to 1 million tourists, which is 10-15% of the 7 million visitors Bali typically receives each year. Sandiaga is hopeful that this shift will create a more balanced tourism experience across the region.
“We initially targeted 20% of Bali’s total visitors, but due to limitations in available flights, we’ve adjusted our target to 10-15%. Even so, this is a significant number, and we expect nearly 1 million visitors to enter West and North Bali via Banyuwangi,” he explained.
One of the standout features of the package is its combination of natural beauty and cultural richness. Travelers will have the opportunity to explore pristine beaches, national parks, and traditional villages, providing a well-rounded experience that highlights both the scenic and cultural treasures of the regions.
In North Bali, the package includes visits to destinations like Desa Tembok, Desa Les, Lovina Beach, and Pemuteran Beach, all nestled in the tranquil Buleleng Regency. Meanwhile, in Jembrana Regency, tourists can enjoy surfing hotspots like Medewi Beach and Dlod Berawah Beach, explore the wildlife of Gilimanuk and the West Bali National Park, or visit the charming Ekasari Tourism Village, known for its chocolate industry.
Banyuwangi, a destination rich in both natural wonders and cultural heritage, offers an array of attractions, including the stunning Ijen Crater, the serene Alas Purwo National Park, the breathtaking Teluk Ijo, and the mystical De Djawatan forest. Other highlights include Tabuhan Island, Baluran National Park, Sukamade Turtle Conservation, and the vibrant Kemiren and Gombengsari villages, where visitors can experience local traditions and witness coffee farming in action. Iconic beaches like Red Island and GWD Beach are also included in the tour.
To ensure convenient travel between these sites, the package includes fast-boat services, with partnerships established with four fast-boat providers ready to cater to both domestic and international visitors.
“We’ve collaborated with four fast-boat providers to ensure smooth transportation for tourists, both from Indonesia and abroad,” Sandiaga noted.
Three distinct Banyuwangi tour packages are available for purchase, offering various travel experiences to suit different preferences. These include the 4-day, 3-night Explore Banyuwangi package, an Open Trip and Private Kawah Ijen Full Day tour, and an adventurous 4-day, 3-night itinerary that takes visitors to Sukamade, Kalibaru, and the Ijen Crater.
With its stunning landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and well-planned infrastructure, the 3B tour package promises to deliver an unforgettable experience, all while supporting Indonesia’s efforts to promote sustainable tourism and economic growth in these regions.
