Approaching semester II/2022, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will eliminate 8 projects from the list of National Strategic Projects (PSN). The cancellation of the project was carried out for several reasons.

Deputy for Coordination of Regional Development and Spatial Planning at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Wahyu Utomo, said that there was a change in the PSN list which changed 208 projects and 10 programs into 200 projects and 12 programs ahead of semester II/2022.

“Several projects that came out were because of the suggestion of the Minister [Airlangga Hartarto] himself,” said Wahyu at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Tuesday (26/7/2022).

Of the 8 projects issued, five include the Tiro Aceh Dam project, the Tanjung Api-Api Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Cikarang Bekasi Laut (CBL), North Kalimantan Railway, and North Bali Airport.

The PSN list was first established through Presidential Decree Number 3 of 2016 and has been revised 4 times with the latest amendment through Coordinating Ministerial Regulation Number 7 of 2021. In the Coordinating Ministerial Regulation, there are 208 projects and 10 programs as PSN with an estimated total investment value of Rp5,739.7 trillion.

However, the government will again revise the Regulation of the Coordinating Minister for the Economy by issuing the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Regulation Number 9 of 2022 where the PSN list becomes 200 projects and 12 programs. This means that 8 projects have been dropped and 2 programs have been added to the Coordinating Ministerial Decree.

Furthermore, Wahyu said, in the Coordinating Ministerial Regulation an evaluation has been carried out according to President Jokowi’s direction so that there are several projects issued and some projects that are still included because they are considered very strategic, do not use APBN money, and are estimated to be completed before 2024 and can increase potential. employment.

“We have not shared the Coordinating Ministerial Decree because it is still in the process of being enacted and maybe shortly we will convey it to the media. But as a leak, we will immediately issue Coordinating Ministerial Regulation Number 9 of 2022,” he said.
