The long series of G20 Indonesia has finally come to an end. President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially closed the peak of the event today, 16/11, in Bali. Jokowi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the leaders of the G20 countries.

“Thank you, Your Excellency Prime Minister Modi. Leaders whom I respect, we have arrived at the end of the G20 Summit,” Jokowi said at The Apurva, Bali, Wednesday (16/11/2022).

He again thanked the leaders of the G20 member countries who were present. He also wished the leaders a safe journey back to their respective countries.

“Once again, I would like to thank all Your Excellencies, and also have a safe trip and have a safe trip,” Jokowi said.

Furthermore, the face of Indonesian President smiled with relief when he said that the G20 Summit had succeeded in ratifying the Leaders’ Declaration.

“Alhamdulillah, today we can adopt and ratify the G20 Bali Leaders’ Declarations. This is the first declaration that can be realized since February 2022,” Jokowi said while concluding the G20 Bali Summit which was held at The Apurva, Kempinski, Nusa Dua, Bali on Wednesday afternoon ( 16/11/2022).

In addition, Jokowi also expressed his appreciation to the heads of state who had attended for providing flexibility so that the declaration could be agreed upon and ratified.

“I also want to express my highest appreciation to all working groups and engagement groups for their dedication, contribution, thoughts, and contributions to the G20 Indonesia Presidency,” he said.

Jokowi also revealed that apart from the declaration, the Indonesian Presidency had also succeeded in producing concrete results, namely work results which contained a list of cooperation projects for G20 member countries and invitations. Jokowi believes that this cooperation project will help bring the work of the G20 closer to the people.

Finally, Jokowi closed the long G20 event

“And well, I hereby declare, the G20 Summit in Bali Indonesia is declared closed,” he added.

Jokowi then knocked on the gavel three times during the trial. On this occasion, there was a moment when Jokowi handed over the gavel to Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi.

The handing over of this hammer marks India’s will as the G20 Presidency in 2023.

“Thank you and I leave the hammer of leadership to India,” he said.
