The ongoing testing phase of the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Train (KCJB) has achieved a remarkable milestone by reaching a speed of 300 km/h, even in the face of torrential rain pouring down along the railway track. With the scheduled launch of the train in August 2023, the speed trials are being meticulously elevated in a gradual manner.

The rigorous testing procedures, carried out employing the advanced inspection train known as CIT Kin, were executed on Friday (June 16, 2023) utilizing the CIT.

Emir Monti, the Corporate Communication Manager of KCIC, corroborated the seamless progression of the testing phase, despite the inclement weather conditions along the JBHST route.

The comprehensive testing regimen allowed the KCJB Inspection Train to effectively penetrate the speed barrier of 300 km/h while ensuring unparalleled stability throughout the process. This noteworthy achievement was made possible due to the meticulous enhancements in various facets of the railway infrastructure, including track systems, electrical networks, signaling mechanisms, safety protocols, and constant monitoring and evaluation procedures.

The successful accomplishment of conducting testing at a speed of 300 km/h, while ensuring the utmost safety, represents a substantial leap forward in the meticulous preparations for the operational debut of the KCJB. With unwavering attention to detail, the testing endeavors will persist, maintaining an unwavering focus on caution and precision.

Elaborating on the forthcoming prospects, Emir stated, “In a phased approach, the velocity of the KCJB will be progressively elevated, ultimately reaching its operational peak speed of 350 km/h, and even further, to its technical peak speed of 385 km/h.” This emphasis on incrementally pushing the boundaries showcases the commitment to delivering a cutting-edge high-speed train service in Southeast Asia.

As a public transportation modality, the KCJB is unequivocally committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, ensuring a secure and comfortable journey for all passengers. KCIC, in close collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation, is actively engaged in the meticulous pursuit of acquiring certifications that substantiate the JBHST’s safe operation, adhering to the stringent regulatory requirements.

In terms of security measures, KCIC has forged robust partnerships with the Indonesian National Armed Forces and the National Police, diligently safeguarding susceptible areas along the train’s route.

Complementing the operational aspects, KCIC remains steadfast in its commitment to nurturing a skilled workforce. In this regard, the concurrent processes of recruitment and comprehensive training programs are being diligently implemented across various regions to identify and cultivate the finest talents within the nation.

Emir emphasized, “KCIC, in close collaboration with all stakeholders, maintains an unwavering focus on conducting rigorous testing, aiming to introduce the first high-speed train service in Southeast Asia that seamlessly integrates safety and unparalleled comfort, elevating the travel experience for all passengers.”
