The Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train (KCJB) project is targeted to start operating in 2023. Currently, carriages of high-speed trains are starting to be sent from China to Jakarta with the aim of Tanjung Priok Port, North Jakarta.
The President Director of the Indonesia China Fast Train (KCIC) Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi also warned that the delivery should be carried out properly, because the terrain that was passed was not easy, especially after arriving at the Tanjung Priok Port.
“We want to make sure to the contractors, especially the CRRC (China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation) so that this shipment can be escorted, especially the shipment from Tanjung Priok to Tegalluar station because it faces quite difficult roads through land or toll roads,” he said online, Friday (5/5). /8/22).
This means that after arriving in Tanjung Priok, this series of Electric Multiple Units (EMU) will travel about 160 km overland to Tegalluar Station, passing through the Cikampek, Purwakarta to Bandung toll roads.
“We hope that CRRC and HSRCC friends can escort the shipping journey, especially from Tanjung Priok to Tegalluar, so that unwanted obstacles do not occur,” said Dwiyana.
“This inaugural delivery of EMU and CIT will mark the first history of sending EMU high-speed rail from China to overseas,” he continued.
As previously reported, the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Rail Project (KCJB) continues to be the government’s discussion. Although it is reported that this project has been delayed due to the depletion of funds due to an increase in construction costs, the government is optimistic that this project can be operated in 2023.
Deputy for Coordination of Regional Development and Spatial Planning at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Wahyu Utomo, explained that his party together with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment continued to closely monitor the construction of the high-speed train project.
Most of the construction of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train, said Wahyu, has already been completed. And just work on the depot or a place to store and a place to carry out routine train maintenance as well as a place to do minor repairs.
“Maybe now what is being worked on is at the depot. Work on the stations has also started,” explained Wahyu when met at his office, Tuesday (26/7/2022).
“But we believe, the commitment from the Indonesian government, that this fast train must be operated immediately. Hopefully in 2023 (can be operated),” said Wahyu again.
Then, what is the price range for KCJB tickets?
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) estimates that the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train fare will be in the range of Rp. 250,000 to Rp. 350,000. However, these rates are not final.
This was conveyed by KAI’s VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus as quoted on the official PT KAI website, Wednesday (3/8/2022).
“The tariffs that will be charged range from Rp. 250,000 to Rp. 350,000, but currently, these rates are still being studied in various aspects. The maximum speed that can be taken by KCJB is 350 km per hour with travel time from Jakarta – Bandung or vice versa, which is 36 – 45 just a minute,” said Joni
The presence of KCJB will make Indonesia the first fast train service in ASEAN. The Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train will provide alternative transportation for people who want to travel quickly, safely, and comfortably between the two areas.
One KCJB carriage consists of eight trains with a capacity of 601 customers. The service classes are divided into VIP Class with 18 customers, First Class with 28 customers, and Second Class with 555 customers.
