Labuan Bajo, known as the jewel of East Nusa Tenggara, is currently hosting the Labuan Bajo Waterfront Festival (LBWF) 2024. This spectacular event, which highlights the cultural richness and tourism potential of Manggarai Barat and Flores, promises to leave a lasting impression on visitors. Scheduled to run until Saturday, November 30, 2024, the festival offers a blend of culture, entertainment, and sustainable tourism promotion.
The festival began with an invigorating Culture Fun Walk on Saturday, November 16, 2024. Participants embarked on a picturesque journey from Puncak Waringin to the Meruorah Labuan Bajo Promenade, combining exercise with a celebration of local heritage.
This year’s theme, “Discover the Allure of Flores,” sets the tone for an event that aims to showcase the beauty and vibrancy of the region while encouraging healthy lifestyles and sustainable tourism practices.
A variety of cultural performances complement the festival’s lineup, offering a platform for local arts and traditions. Hamonangan Sirait, Acting Executive Assistant Manager of Meruorah Komodo Labuan Bajo, emphasized the significance of the event in raising the profile of Labuan Bajo and Flores on the global stage.
“We want this festival to become a regular feature in Labuan Bajo,” said Hamonangan. “The goal is to attract both domestic and international tourists, gain coverage from international media, and solidify our region’s status as a super-premium destination.”

Adding to this sentiment, Stefan Jemsifori, Head of the Manggarai Barat Tourism, Creative Economy, and Culture Office, expressed optimism about the festival’s role in enriching the visitor experience in Labuan Bajo.
“We hope this event will become an annual tradition, offering a fresh cultural and entertainment alternative for tourists, both local and international,” said Stefan.
