Moda Raya Terpadu (MRT) Jakarta changes the waiting time between trains (Headway) on holidays and weekends or weekends to 10 minutes. This was done to anticipate the potential increase in passengers on holidays or weekends.

“Considering the potential increase in the number of MRT Jakarta users on weekends, we are changing the operation pattern on weekends and holidays, namely the departure distance between trains to 10 minutes throughout the day,” said Director of Operations and Maintenance of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda), Muhammad Effendi in his written statement, Tuesday (25/8/2020).

Meanwhile, the operational hours are still the same, at 06.00-20.00 WIB. This change took effect on Saturday (29/8).

“The operational hours of the Jakarta MRT on weekends and holidays do not change, it remains at 6 am to 8 pm,” he said.

With this headway change, PT MRT has added 7 trainsets, which previously had only 4 trainset. In total, there are 157 trips that will serve passengers in a day.

MRT Jakarta appealed to passengers to continue implementing health protocols. This was done to prevent the transmission of the Corona virus from getting more massive. As is known, the waiting time between trains on weekends or holidays is 20 minutes. Meanwhile, during working hours the waiting time between trains is 5 minutes.
