The government will soon build the Kamal-Teluk Naga-Rajeg toll road. This toll road is the northern ring toll road which is intended to develop a new city area on the coast of Jakarta, precisely in the northern part of Tangerang Regency.

The preparation for the this toll road construction is marked by the immediate commencement of public consultation by the provincial government of DKI Jakarta.

Public consultation is one of the initial processes of development preparation, a forum for dialogue with residents whose land or assets are affected by the construction of this toll road project.

The Tangerang Regency Government itself has also prepared thousands of hectares of land for reclamation to support the development of new city areas on the coast of Tangerang, one of which is PIK 2 which is being worked on by the Agung Sedayu Group.

“Together, we invite the rightful parties/goods managers/goods users/affected communities to the planned development located in the second public consultation,” reads the announcement of the Ministry of PUPR, quoted Wednesday (26/10/2022).

The public consultation will be held in Kamal Muara Village III Floor, North Jakarta with 51 invitations from community elements to companies.

Furthermore, before construction begins, this project still has to go through several processes. Such as the installation of trace stakes, land procurement, and inventory.

Furthermore, the 38.6 km Kamal-Teluk Naga-Rajeg Toll Road is part of the northern ring toll road, starting from the Cikupa, Rajeg, and Mauk areas which are connected to the Sedyatmo toll road or the Soekarno Hatta Airport area.

In February 2022, the PUPR Ministry appointed PT Duta Graha Karya as a consortium that passed the pre-qualification stage of the toll concession auction.

This toll road is planned to have 7 interchanges, 2 junctions, and 1 one ramp. In addition, there will be 4 bridges and 5 underpasses.

In the PUPR Ministry’s PPP Node document, there is a proposed 38.6 km Kamal-Teluk Naga-Rajeg Toll Road project which will cut the coastal area of Tangerang Regency. The investment cost of this project is around Rp. 18.51 trillion, including construction costs of Rp. 8.68 trillion

Meanwhile, according to the official website of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov), this toll road has some other benefits.

The first is to overcome congestion due to the lack of road capacity between Banten Province and DKI Jakarta which is considered to be unable to accommodate the increasing number of vehicles.

The second is to spur regional development from the economic, trade, industrial, and other sectors in the two provinces and the new city.

Third, providing economic benefits in terms of travel time and vehicle operations for road users.

Fourth, provide employment opportunities for the surrounding community in development activities.
