Today’s Arrival of Train Passengers in Jakarta Reaches 40,800 People

The government set Friday (6/5) as the last extensive national holiday of Eid al-Fitr. After the national holiday ended, thousands of people began to return to the nation’s capital, DKI Jakarta.

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) recorded the volume of passenger arrivals who will stop at operational area 1 Jakarta on Monday (9/5/2022) as many as 40,800 people.

This was conveyed by the Head of Public Relations of PT KAI operational area 1, Eva Chairunisa. she said that this amount was the accumulation of the purchase of long-distance train tickets with the final destination at Gambir Station, Pasar Senen, Jatinegara, Bekasi, Cikampek, and Jakarta Kota.

According to details provided by KAI, there were 14,800 passenger arrivals at Gambir Station, 15,300 at Pasar Senen Station, 3,800 at Jatinegara Station, and 3,900 at Bekasi Station, and another 3,000 passengers who will disembark at Cikampek and Jakarta Kota stations.

PT. KAI said that as many as 562,923 tickets had been sold for departures from April 22 to May 9 2022 from operational area 1 Jakarta.

Eva explained that all passengers who got off at operational area 1 Jakarta had passed the inspection related to long-distance train travel requirements at the departure station.

PT. KAI also advised Passengers to make sure all their belongings are in the seating and luggage areas and not to be in a hurry when getting off the train.

The peak density of passengers departing from Gambir Station and Pasar Senen was recorded from 27 April to 1 May 2022.

“During that period, the occupancy of long-distance train passengers departing from the operational area 1 Jakarta area reached 100 percent,” Eva added in her official statement, Monday (9/5/2022).

The relationships that many long-distance train users choose are the destinations of Yogyakarta, Solo, Kutoarjo, Purwokerto, Kebumen, Tegal, Semarang, Surabaya, Malang, Cirebon, and Bandung.
