Bali G20 – Indonesia will hold the presidency of the Group of Twenty (G20) in 2022. The handover from Italy to Indonesia was carried out at the G20 Summit or G20 Leaders’ Summit in Rome, Italy on 30-31 October 2021. G20 is an international economic forum consisting of 20 countries. This forum was established after the monetary crisis in 1997-1998.

The G20 Summit in Bali will be held from 1 December 2021-30 November 2022. There will be 150 meetings during that time. In prediction, there will be around 500-5,800 delegates attending each meeting.

This is the first time Indonesia elected as the holder of the G20 presidency. During the presidency, Indonesia played a role in determining priority agendas and leading a series of G20 meetings.

President Jokowidodo with his wife visited Bali (8/10/2021) to ensure the preparations. They reviewed several facilities that might be used to support the implementation.

This Summit must be used as an event to show Indonesia’s ability to control the Covid-19 pandemic. Both of health and economic perspective. This event also has to be able to show the progress that has been achieved by Indonesia.

The President hopes that all parties, including the central government, regional governments, and the people of Bali can continue to jointly control the Covid-19 pandemic.
