The government through the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency will reorganize the rules for purchasing fuel oil of RON 90 type or Pertalite. Currently, the regulation is being studied in depth.

BPH Oil and Gas Committee member, Saleh Abdurrahman, explained that his party is still comprehensively reviewing the criteria for cars that will be included in the luxury vehicle category to facilitate their implementation at the operator level later.

Saleh said that his party still does not know when the regulation can be applied to prevent distribution that is not on target.

Previously, the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) was waiting for President Joko Widodo’s decision regarding the formation of technical instructions for purchasing fuel oil or subsidized fuel such as Pertalite and Solar.

The technical instructions will later regulate in detail the implementation of closed subsidies for Pertalite and Solar fuel types in the community.

Director of BBM BPH Migas Patuan Alfon Simanjuntak said the implementation of closed subsidies on subsidized fuel would rely on the use of digital infrastructure. Alfon said the government plans to imitate the registration and tracking system found in the PeduliLindung application feature.

“We hope that everything can be digitized, the scheme is like that. All consumer users are required to register like PeduliLindung later when the digital system is ready, it will be run like that,” he explained.

Furthermore, Alfon said his party was waiting for the proposal submitted to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. He also has not been able to reveal the criteria for receiving Pertalite subsidies in the regulation.

Apart from Pertalite, Alfon also said that his party, Pertamina, and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources are currently working on technical instructions regarding the purchase of 3 Kilogram LPG. But he also could not provide detailed information regarding this matter. “Currently everything is still in progress.”

Previously, Head of BPH Migas Erika Retnowati said that her party was still working on the revision of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 191 of 2014 concerning the Supply, Distribution, and Retail Selling Price of Fuel Oil (BBM) along with technical instructions for purchasing Pertalite.

“It’s true, we are currently processing the revision of Presidential Regulation 191/2014, especially those related to consumer users so that subsidized fuel can be more targeted. Later, technical instructions will be followed,” Erika explained, quoted Tuesday (24/5/2022).

He also promised that when the time came, his party would socialize the rules. Erika added that the rule will likely run in the next 2-to 3 months.
