Visiting every corner of Lembata will soon be easier than ever. The local government of Lembata Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, has introduced the “Ayo Berwisata Card,” designed for both domestic and international tourists. With this card, travelers gain free access to all government-managed tourist destinations across the region.

The card is priced at Rp50,000 and will be valid for one full year, covering January through December 2025. Tourists only need to purchase it once a year, and renewal is done by buying a new card in the following year.

According to Kristianus Molan, Secretary of the Lembata Regency Tourism Office, this initiative is part of the government’s effort to strengthen tourism as a key driver of the local economy. At the same time, it offers a practical solution to simplify tourist access to attractions managed by the regency.

“This card costs Rp50,000, valid until the end of 2025, and grants free entry for both local and outside visitors,” Kristianus said in his statement on Wednesday (September 24, 2025).

Lembata boasts an impressive lineup of destinations that fall under this program. Among its tourism villages are Mingar, Bour, Lolong, Tewao Wutung, Wulandoni, Belabaja, Atawai, Riang Bao, Hadakewa, Balurebong, Balauring, Labalimut, Atakore, Lusilame, Dikesare, Leuwayan, Lamalera B, Lerek, Lamalera A, and Dulir. Visitors can also enjoy other highlights such as Bukit Cinta Lembata, Wewan Bele Wai Jarang Beach, Ili Lolon Todanara, Atawua Palace Twaowutung, and Pantai Mutiara.

Kristianus hopes that the card will encourage more people to discover Lembata’s unique natural beauty and cultural richness.

Lembata Regent Petrus Kanisius Tuaq also applauded the teamwork behind the initiative. He emphasized that tourism development is not only about destinations, but also about supporting creative industries, culinary tourism, and local products like jagung titi and salt.

He further underlined the importance of professional management to ensure long-term growth.

“Of course, everything from basic facilities to visitor comfort must be taken into account to ensure the sustainability of this sector,” Petrus said.
