FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, ensured that all national leaders present at the G20 Indonesia would receive a “special gift” from him. The special prize is the 2022 World Cup official ball.
Gianni Infantino, who had the opportunity to greet before lunch, said that every guest invited to lunch would receive the official World Cup ball.
“You will get this ball with your own name on each ball. So make sure you get it,” said FIFA president at the Bamboo Dome, Tuesday (15/11/2022).
Infantino even officially asked all G20 leaders to sign a special World Cup official ball so that it would become part of history in the future.
The official ball’s name for the 2022 World Cup is Al Rihla. It is produced by the famous sports manufacturer, Adidas. Interestingly, the ball was even produced in Madiun, East Java.
Adidas has entrusted PT Global Wei Indonesia (GW)) as the company responsible for producing the 2022 World Cup balls, totaling 50,000 balls of the highest quality.
This ball is made with high technology that focuses on speed, so the ball can move faster and accuracy and stability can be measured.
This ball design is inspired by the traditional Dhow boat panel design and features a solid pattern of blue, red, and yellow, representing the landscape in Doha, Qatar. Additionally, Al Rihla is the first World Cup ball to be made exclusively with water-based inks and glue.
Giving this prize is a step to brighten up the Qatar 2022 World Cup which will take place in less than a week.
