Starting June 1, 2025, passengers on the Jakarta–Surabaya rail line can now experience a new level of luxury. Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) has officially introduced its Suite Class Compartment on the Argo Bromo Anggrek train, offering premium service for those seeking a private, comfortable, and exclusive travel experience.
With tickets starting at around IDR 2.1 million, the service connects Gambir Station in Jakarta with Pasar Turi Station in Surabaya, running in both directions.
“Our Suite Class Compartment is here to meet the needs of customers who seek extra comfort, privacy, and premium service,” said Anne Purba, KAI’s Vice President of Public Relations, in an official statement on Wednesday (June 4, 2025).
This launch marks the first time Suite Class is available on the northern line. It builds on the successful introduction of similar services on the southern route, previously seen on the Bima and Argo Semeru trains.

KAI also timed the launch to coincide with Surabaya’s 732nd anniversary, which was celebrated on May 31, 2025. The Suite Class Compartment schedule for Argo Bromo Anggrek includes two daily departures from each end:
- From Gambir: 08:20 AM and 08:30 PM WIB
- From Surabaya Pasar Turi: 09:10 AM and 09:15 PM WIB
Inside the Suite Class Compartment, passengers are treated to private rooms equipped with fully reclining ergonomic seats, personal entertainment systems, and ambient warm lighting. The experience also includes exclusive in-train meals and an amenity kit to enhance comfort throughout the journey.
“Every detail in this train is designed to ensure maximum comfort during travel,” Anne explained. According to her, tickets have been available for booking since April 18, 2025, through the Access by KAI app and other official sales channels.
She closed her statement by inviting the public to experience a new standard of train travel. “Don’t miss the chance to enjoy a luxurious journey with the Suite Class Compartment starting tomorrow. Traveling by train is no longer just about reaching your destination—it’s about how you enjoy the journey,” she said.
As demand for luxury and privacy grows among train travelers, KAI’s move signals a broader push to elevate the rail experience in Indonesia, particularly on high-demand routes like Jakarta–Surabaya.
