Ministry of Transportation Officially Increases Ojek Online Fares

The government through the Ministry of Transportation has officially raised online taxi (Ojek) fares. This policy will take effect on 10 September 2022 at 00.00 West Indonesia Time.

“This policy was signed on September 7, 2022, and must be effective 3 days later. So September 10, 2022, at 00.00 WIB,” said Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Hendro Sugiatno, at a press conference at the Ministry of Transportation, Wednesday (7/9/2022).

The Online Ojek tariff in Indonesia consists of two parts. First the cost of the driver. This rate increase is based on an increase in the regional minimum wage (UMR), driver insurance, value-added tax (VAT), and an increase in the price of fuel oil (BBM).

In the first zone, the lower limit of Rp. 1,850 per km increases to Rp. 2,000 per km or there is an 8% increase. The upper limit is from Rp. 2,300 per km to Rp. 2,500 per km, or an increase of 8.7%.

The second zone, the lower limit, increased from Rp 2,250 per km to Rp 2,550 per km, an increase of 13%. The upper limit was increased from Rp 2,650 per km to Rp 2,800 per km, an increase of 8%.

The three lower boundary zones increased from Rp 2,100 per km to Rp 2,300 per km, an increase of 9%. The upper limit increased from IDR 2,600 per km to IDR 2,750 per km or an increase of 5.7%

The second is the amount of application rental rates or indirect costs. “Indirect rental fees are set at 15% or down from the previous rule of 20%,” explained Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Hendro Sugiatno, at a press conference at the Ministry of Transportation, Wednesday (7/9/2022).

As previously reported, The Ministry of Transportation has officially postponed the increase in online motorcycle taxi fares (ojek). The postponement is carried out by considering the situation and conditions that develop in the community.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation, Adita Irawati, said, “This decision to postpone takes into account various situations and conditions that develop in the community,” Adita said in a statement, quoted on Sunday (28/8/2022).
