The government has finally issued a new decree regarding the purchase of RON 90 or Pertalite fuel oil. Pertamina Patra Niaga conveyed that the purchase of pertalite-type fuel must have been registered on the MyPertamina page starting July 1, 2022.

The implementation of this new rule is carried out so that the distribution of Pertalite fuel is right on target.

President Director of Pertamina Patra Niaga Alfian Nasution on the official pertamina.com website explained the procedure for purchasing by registering at MyPertamina so that the subsidies provided can be right on target.

According to him, Pertamina, which sells pertalite and diesel fuel, must comply, be on target, and have the right quota in distributing fuel that is subsidized by the government. There are also rules for distributing subsidized fuel, including the quota and amount, and in terms of user segmentation.

The problem is, for subsidized solar users there are very clear rules, in contrast to Pertalite because the user segmentation is still too broad.

Previously, five provinces would be the trial locations for the implementation of MyPertamina. The five provinces are West Sumatra, South Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, West Java, and Yogyakarta.

Furthermore, Pertamina will give time for Pertalite gasoline buyers to immediately register on the MyPertamina website.

If the consumer has not registered until the specified time, then the consumer cannot buy Pertalite BBM but is directed to buy other types of BBM products such as Pertamax Cs.

“Registration starts July 1, 2022, in the data first, if you want to register using a cellphone, you can use a computer. We are currently testing it, when they have registered, and will fill Pertalite fuel later, the gas station operator will see if the vehicle has been registered on MyPertamina,” said Pertamina Patra Niaga’s Corporate Secretary, Irto Ginting, was quoted.

Irto said that his party would provide a registration period for buyers of the assigned fuel and subsidies. However, Irto has not been able to explain the period while the registration process for consumers is running.

“For example, if the consumer has not registered for one month, we apologize with a heavy heart, we will direct the Pertalite buyer to fill in Pertamax,” he said.

At the gas station level, Pertamina also continues to prepare a digitalization system, where vehicles that have been registered with MyPertamina will enter the system. Later, the gas station will use Electronic Data Capture (EDC) to check vehicle numbers or consumers who use the barcode system.

“Every 15 minutes the barcode system changes, he just has to scan it, and the police number data and other data will come out. If they haven’t registered, their names won’t come out,” said Irto.

While the registration for the purchase of Pertalite is ongoing, Pertamina and the government are still discussing the criteria for luxury vehicles that are not allowed to buy Pertalite and subsidized diesel.

Later, the MyPertamina application will imitate the registration system contained in the Cares Protect Application feature which has been implemented so far to prevent the spread of Covid-19 cases.

Even so, he realized that the implementation for the use of this application still encountered several challenges that were quite formidable.
