Positive cases of the corona virus (Covid-19) in Indonesia again broke a record of 11,557, Thursday (14/1). Thus, the accumulative number of confirmed Covid-19 exposure in Indonesia since March 2020 will be 869,600 cases.
Of the accumulative number, 711,205 recovered (increased by 7,741) and 25,246 died (increased by 295).
The day before, the cumulative number of Covid-19 in Indonesia was 858,043 cases with the addition of 11,278. Of these, 703,464 people recovered and 24,951 died.
Meanwhile, the number of specimens examined in the last 24 hours was 70,376. Then the number of suspects recorded was 64,032.
The government itself has tried to suppress the spread of the corona virus by implementing the Enactment of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) from January 11 to January 25, 2021.
In addition, the Covid-19 vaccination process has also begun with the first injection of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on January 13, 2021.
Jokowi was injected with the Sinovac brand of vaccine which has obtained an emergency use permit (EUA) from the Indonesian Food and Drug Administration (BPOM). BPOM states that the Sinovac vaccine has an efficacy of 65.3 percent.
Vaccination is continued for health workers in a number of areas starting January 14, 2021.
The Ministry of Health is known to have set four covid-19 vaccination timelines for 181.5 million people in the country which are targeted to be completed in 15 months or in March 2022.
After health personnel, there are two sub-categories established by the government for implementing the vaccination program. 17.4 million for public officials, and 21.5 million for the elderly.
The next target is vulnerable people from the geospatial, social, and economic aspects with a total of 63.9 million.
Then the fourth target is the community and other economic actors with a cluster approach according to the availability of vaccines, with a target of 77.4 million people.
