In a significant diplomatic development, Indonesia has received a prestigious invitation to participate in the esteemed Saudi Arabian High-Level Conference that aims to address the pressing issue of peace in Ukraine.

The news was confirmed by Teuku Faizasyah, the articulate spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a press briefing at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.

Faizasyah, with his characteristic poise, revealed that Indonesia had indeed been granted the privilege to attend the forthcoming high-profile gathering in Saudi Arabia, which is slated to be held on the 5th and 6th of August 2023. The conference is expected to witness the presence of around 30 nations, encompassing various diplomats actively engaged in the crucial discussions.

As the situation remains fluid, Faizasyah expounded on the intricate details, explaining that the invitation for Indonesia’s participation in the Ukraine-Russia peace meeting was formally conveyed to the relevant coordinating ministry, thereby underscoring the importance and sensitivity of the matter at hand.

“It is with great honor and significance that we have received an invitation to participate in the Ukraine-Russia peace meeting organized by Saudi Arabia, and this invitation has been addressed to the coordinating ministry in Indonesia,” Faizasyah eloquently conveyed.

While the news of Indonesia’s involvement in the peace talks has been warmly welcomed, Faizasyah emphasized that the precise nature of Indonesia’s representation was still subject to thoughtful consideration. He candidly stated that whether Indonesia would send a delegation from the central government or choose to be represented by its esteemed diplomats stationed in the respective country remained an aspect to be carefully examined.

“It is essential to approach this matter with utmost deliberation and circumspection. While we have received the esteemed invitation, we are carefully assessing the best approach for Indonesia’s representation at the conference. We will determine whether a delegation from our central government will attend or if we shall be duly represented by our competent diplomats stationed in that country,” Faizasyah assured.
