Jakarta residents and public transport users have something special to look forward to. To celebrate Jakarta’s 498th anniversary, the Jakarta Provincial Government is offering an extraordinary fare of just Rp 1 for several public transportation services, including TransJakarta, MRT Jakarta, and LRT Jakarta.
This special fare will apply for a full 24 hours on June 22, 2025, starting from 00:00 WIB until 23:59 WIB. The policy is part of the city’s effort to show appreciation to residents who support public transportation while encouraging more people to leave their private vehicles behind and embrace mass transit.
The Jakarta government also confirmed that the policy is supported by existing regional regulations, including local and gubernatorial decrees that govern the city’s public transport system. The city has applied similar policies in previous years with positive public response.
In addition to the discounted fare, Jakarta will also extend the operational hours of its transportation services during the celebration. TransJakarta will extend services on routes serving key event locations until 01:00 WIB on June 23, 2025. MRT Jakarta will also operate longer, from 05:00 WIB on June 22 until 01:00 WIB the following day. Meanwhile, LRT Jakarta will be fully operational throughout June 22 and will also offer the Rp 1 fare.

Other services, such as Mikrotrans, TransJakarta Cares, and zero-fare TransJakarta routes, will continue to operate normally without fare changes.
The Jakarta Provincial Government invites all residents to take part in the Jakarta’s 498th anniversary festivities by using public transportation, promoting an eco-friendly, cost-efficient, and comfortable way to celebrate Jakarta’s milestone.
