The government has opened the door for foreign tourists through two entrances, namely Bali and the Riau Islands. Furthermore, foreign tourists with a B211A Tourist Visit Visa who come to the Province of Bali and Riau Islands are allowed to visit other areas. They are also allowed to return to their country from the Immigration Checkpoint (TPI) in the area.

This was conveyed by the Director of Immigration Traffic at the Directorate General of Immigration, Amran Aris in his remarks at the Socialization and Dissemination of E-Visa for Tourist Visits in Bali on Friday (4/2/2022).

“Foreigners who come on tourist visas do not have to go through Bali, they can go through other areas, for example, if they want to stop by Labuan Bajo,” said Amran.

Amran explained that the mechanism for issuing visas for tourism is an agreement from all stakeholders. The Directorate General of Immigration follows the applicable regulations, namely Menkumham Regulation No. 34 of 2021 and the SE Task Force for Handling Covid-19 No. 4 the Year 2022.

“In terms of health insurance, for example, based on the agreement of the relevant ministries and institutions, foreigners (foreign citizens) are asked to have health insurance, taking into account the risks,” said Amran.

He continued, based on the evaluation results, the amount of health insurance coverage is one of the obstacles for prospective foreign tourists who want to travel to Bali.

However, foreign tourists visiting Indonesia are required to have health insurance. This is requested directly by the relevant ministries and institutions to prevent the risks that may arise.

Therefore, the value of the health insurance coverage was adjusted, from USD 100,000 to USD 25,000. Proof of health insurance needs to be prepared when foreigners arrive in Bali so that they can be shown during document inspection.
