The Chinese New Year holiday (Imlek) is an ideal moment to strengthen bonds with loved ones, offering a rare chance to create lasting memories. If you’re still deciding on a getaway destination, Jakarta Aquarium & Safari (JAQS) has something extraordinary in store. This year, they’re hosting an enchanting event titled Prosperity Garden, Wood Snake in Bloom, crafted to deliver an unforgettable experience for visitors.

This special celebration blends family time, creativity, and cultural appreciation in an immersive and exciting environment. As Indonesia’s largest indoor aquarium, JAQS is a popular attraction that houses a fascinating collection of animals.

Located at Jalan Letjen S. Parman Kavling 28, Tanjung Duren Selatan, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta, it features over 3,500 species of aquatic and non-aquatic creatures. Beyond its exhibits, the aquarium offers interactive activities for visitors of all ages.

Angela Stella, General Manager of Jakarta Aquarium & Safari, emphasized the importance of creating meaningful experiences for families.

“This year, we’re introducing a Chinese New Year celebration that is not only visually stunning but also rich in meaning. We’re thrilled to welcome everyone to JAQS and hope this becomes an unforgettable part of the JAQSplorer holiday tradition,” she said, as quoted by Antara on Monday (27/1/2025).

One of the highlights of the event is the Prosperity Garden Tunnel, a magical walkway adorned with blooming cherry blossoms, shimmering lanterns, and sparkling lights. This captivating tunnel doubles as a picturesque backdrop for photos, making it a must-visit spot for those seeking Instagram-worthy moments.

Visitors can also witness the mesmerizing Bian Lian Show, a traditional Chinese performance where skilled artists change masks in the blink of an eye. Originating from Sichuan opera, this ancient art form combines precision, artistry, and a touch of mystery.

“Bian Lian is an ancient art form where performers change masks so quickly that the transition is invisible to the naked eye,” Angela explained.

For those seeking hands-on activities, JAQS offers Lantern and Origami Crafting workshops. These creative sessions are designed to spark imagination and bring families together in a fun, interactive way. Additionally, the aquarium presents Fun Stick Rush, an exciting game where participants race to catch falling sticks for prizes.

“Collect as many sticks as you can and become the winner! This activity guarantees unforgettable fun and togetherness for the entire family,” Angela added.

With its engaging lineup of events, Jakarta Aquarium & Safari ensures that visitors will leave with cherished memories and a deeper appreciation for the festive spirit. Whether you’re drawn to the dazzling displays, cultural performances, or hands-on fun, Prosperity Garden promises a Chinese New Year celebration like no other.
