The 2024 Mandalika MotoGP is set to kick off, and anticipation is at an all-time high. Scheduled from September 27-29, the race promises to be a spectacular event, with preparations reported to be 99% complete. Fans are eager, and this year’s event is shaping up to offer four new experiences that set it apart from previous editions. So, what makes this year’s MotoGP different? Let’s take a closer look.
As reported by Detik, Maya Watono, Marketing Director of Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero) or InJourney, provided the latest updates on the upcoming race during an interview with detikPagi. She confirmed that the organizers are nearly finished with preparations, and all key elements are in place.
“Preparation is about 99% done. The riders have arrived, and so has all the necessary equipment. Cargo planes carrying the bikes have already landed. Basically, everything is ready for the race,” Maya explained in the interview on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
However, Maya also highlighted that this year’s MotoGP Mandalika will feature several differences compared to last year’s race.
“We’ve made four major improvements. First, we’ve upgraded the infrastructure around the circuit and added new features. For example, the Grand Stands, which were extremely hot in previous years, now have roofs. This will provide much-needed relief for spectators,” Maya explained.
One of the standout features of the 2024 Mandalika MotoGP is the introduction of the world’s first-ever MotoGP Museum, which will be located at Mandalika.

“We are proud to announce the opening of the world’s first MotoGP Museum in Mandalika. It’s a must-see, and visitors should definitely make time to explore it while they’re here,” said Maya.
Another exciting addition to this year’s event is the increased number of side activities for visitors to enjoy. From entertainment before the race to events during and after the main event, there’s something for everyone.
“This year, we’ve added even more side events. These include pre-event, during the race, and post-event activities. This will help boost the local economy and promote our nation’s brand globally. For three days straight, there will be top national artists performing and a Mandalika bazaar,” Maya revealed.
Maya also shared details about the grand opening ceremony, which will be a cultural celebration, showcasing dances from various regions of Indonesia. The organizers have also focused on improving fan engagement with the riders, such as the Riders Parade, which took place in Mataram.
“The opening ceremony will be massive, featuring cultural performances from different regions across Indonesia. We’re also encouraging more interactions between fans and riders, like today’s Riders Parade in Mataram, which has been incredibly exciting,” Maya concluded.
With these exciting changes, the 2024 Mandalika MotoGP is set to be a memorable event, providing both local and international visitors with an unforgettable experience.
