The government has officially extended the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) starting today, March 1 to March 7, 2022, for Java Island and March 1-14 for Outside Java and Bali.

The seven areas are Cilegon City, Sukabumi City, Cirebon City, Tegal City, Salatiga City, Magelang City and Madiun City. There were 3 additional regions from the previous 4 regions that were included in the level 4 PPKM category.

The regulation on the extension of the PPKM is stated in the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) number 13 of 2022.

“In the Minister of Home Affairs Number 13 of 2022 for Java Bali, there is an increase in the number of regions that are at Level 4, from the original 4 regions to 7 regions, namely Cilegon City, Sukabumi City, Cirebon City, Tegal City, Salatiga City, Magelang City, and Madiun City. Meanwhile, in the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 14 for areas Outside Java-Bali, regional level assessments on the extension of PPKM Outside Java-Bali still use the same vaccination indicators, namely the total achievement of the second dose of vaccination and the vaccination of the elderly over 60 years of age, the first dose, “said the Director-General of Development. Adwil Kemendagri Safrizal through a written statement, Tuesday (1/3/2022)

Safrizal said that apart from a change in the number of regions implementing PPKM level 4, a change in the number also occurred in regions implementing PPKM level 3. The number increased from 99 to 108 regions.

Meanwhile, the regions at level 2 have decreased from 25 regions to 13 regions. Currently, there are no regions that have implemented PPKM level 1.

Meanwhile, the number of regions with the implementation of PPKM level 3 outside Java and Bali is increasing. Originally 118 regions, now it is 320 regions. The increase occurred because the vaccination requirements were tightened.

Meanwhile, the number of regions in PPKM level 2 from 205 regions to 63 regions, and Level 1 has decreased from 63 regions to 3 regions.

“Objectively, if we look at the number of regions at Level 3 and 4 experiencing an increase, it’s because of the tightened vaccination requirements as an effort to accelerate vaccination in all regions. But we are optimistic that the increasing trend will decrease starting next week in line with the decline in confirmed cases. ,” he said.

Furthermore, Safrizal said that the latest PPKM Inmendagri did not change the rules for limiting activities in public places. He said the rules were still the same as before.

“Like the rules for limiting activities in public places that require proof of vaccination certificates for children aged 6-12 years. Parallel, acceleration of vaccination also needs to be carried out for areas where the achievement is still below 70% of the first dose and below 50% of the second dose,” he explained.

Furthermore, at the same time, the government also continues to encourage national economic growth. One of the efforts is a trial plan related to quarantine exemption for Foreign Travel Actors heading to Bali.
